Elissa Wellhausen spent her adolescent years in 4-H and Pony Club. She showed horses primarily in local 4-H shows and area fairs, competing in equitation and jumping, although she also became enthusiastic about dressage. In 1999, she graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor degree in Animal Science. Elissa then started a family, became a 4-H leader of the Singing Spurs, and the Horse Department Supervisor of the Valley Fair. She underwent the rigorous training to become a PATHI registered therapeutic riding instructor. She has been teaching about horses for the last 15 years, and became a registered Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International ( PATHI ) instructor in 2011. PATHI is an organization that monitors the safety, skills and professionalism of it's members to ensure that clients are provided an adequate standard of instruction. Along with horses, Elissa likes to be active outside in the yard or working on the house. She loves spending time with her family, swimming, and camping.
